Craftsmanship Spanning Generations.
Meet Justin and Mark Sayes.
Justin is an airline pilot who in the wake of the pandemic turned a hobby into a business, designing and building leadlights with his father Mark for homes across Auckland.
Mark was a leadlighter and high school teacher before starting a publishing company supplying educational resources to Kiwi students.
Today, Justin and Mark design and build custom leadlights together from their studio in Epsom.
“We recommend Justin for his professionalism and care in the design and construction of our leadlights.”

About Leadlighting
Lead lights are decorative windows made by cutting pieces of glass of various textures and colours, and soldering them together with lead strips. They’re a popular fixture in domestic architecture of old, and are a commonly-retained feature in the villas and bungalows of Auckland’s central suburbs.
Traditional leadlight designs are non-pictorial and tend to employ simple geometric patterns using diamonds, squares or circular shapes. Today, leadlights range from geometric to abstract and formalised pictorial motifs.
